International Women's Day - announcement of the winners of the Think Pink Europe Innovation Award
1st prize goes to...
There is no better day we could choose than International Women’s Day to announce the winners of the Think Pink Europe Innovation Award.
In the last months, 5 finalist teams were selected from 60 projects participating in the Think Pink Europe Innovation Awards. On March 7th, the 5 finalist teams presented their projects that will make a difference in closing the gap in women’s health care. After working on the spot with 5 specialised mentors for 30 minutes each, the projects were being finetuned, and 24 hours later the adapted ideas were presented to the 10 members of the jury.
ItaliaCamp, Susan G. Komen Italia and Think Pink Europe announced the jury’s decision on March 8, International Women's Day.
1st prize Think Pink Europe Innovation Awards, € 20,000, goes to Monique Van Dijk and René Loek for the Netherlands with PINKTRAINER:
the E-health application for a holistic approach of exercise, nutrition and motivational support for (ex)cancer patients before, during and after treatment.
2nd prize goes to...
2nd prize Think Pink Europe Innovation Awards, € 5,000, goes to Mariela Vasileva and Assia Konsoulova from Bulgaria with their project ROSE:
the online platform connecting pents involved in breast cancer biobank, doctors and researchers in a common aim to increase cancer survival.
The 5 finalist teams presented valuable ideas that will contribute to closing the gap in breast cancer and women's health care
The 3 projects Cinderella (Portugal), Nemo (Italy) and Plusimple (Italy) that did not go home with a cheque, proved to be very valuable and important projects too. They will continue to work on their ideas. We are convinced that we will hear from them in the near future. We'll keep you posted!
THANK YOU
A big thank you goes to the mentors, the jury and the teams. We are grateful for their time and positive energy in making this hackathon a heart-warming and meaningful event!
