Why DAKAR FOR LIFE ?

"Dakar for Life" is a socially responsible project that was born in 2023 from the union of Rafael Lesmes, his CUP 59 team and the Carrera por la Vida Foundation, to raise awareness about breast cancer and draw attention to breast cancer with both women and men. The DAKAR POR LA VIDA 2024 expands its commitment and social responsibility by raising funds and support for two projects, the PINK MIND PROJECT and the ARDERNE PROJECT.

1. PINK MIND PROJECT

For the Carrera por la Vida Foundation, mental health is essential, which is why it needs to set up a psychological care service for people affected by breast cancer. Psychological intervention is essential in the reception of the diagnosis, during the treatment and in the new life after the cure. The mental health of the person with breast cancer also depends on their environment, which is why the PINK MIND PROJECT will offer, in addition to individualized attention, family therapy and guide support groups for people with breast cancer.

2. ARDERNE PROJECT

The Association of Patients with Male Breast Cancer (INVI) joins forces and efforts to make patients visible and raise awareness among men who can also suffer from breast cancer. In its commitment to research, INVI seeks funding for the Oncology Research Project on male breast cancer promoted by GEICAM and which represents the first registry in Spain of male breast cancer and the ARDERNE project that will allow analyzing the situation and characteristics of this population, and improve its diagnosis and treatment.

DAKAR 2024: the journey itself is the goal.

The Dakar for Life 2024 project, which has the support of THINK PINK EUROPE, is preparing to start in January 2024 and will once again be an example of commitment and awareness of breast cancer in women and men.
